APPLIED
BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS
School Based Services
California
Pediatric & Family Services is renowned for its commitment to addressing
behavioral concerns within the context of the school system or other
supportive structure. As such, our role is to address environmental
issues and systems, to develop individual Applied Behavior Analysis
strategies and satisfactory alternatives to current skills. Each client
is thoroughly evaluated within their environment to determine the most
appropriate form of affecting positive behavioral changes and problem
solving strategies.
In accordance with our philosophy, all facilitators employ a
developmental approach that targets behaviors in the context/environment
in which they occur.
The child participates in the school setting, where the training in the
behavioral concepts are practiced. Interventions are conducted by
working directly with the child under the general supervision of the
teacher. Therefore, services for children cannot be provided unless the
IEP is directing such and the school district is contracting with our
agency within school goals and guidelines . Clients of school age and
variable developmental levels qualify for these behavioral services as
identified by IEP. Children who are assigned to participate in these
services may be displaying maladaptive or inappropriate behaviors,
behaviors that interfering with the ability to learn new tasks within
the school setting. These children may display symptoms of Pervasive
Disorders, ADHD or other learning or developmental problems.
